Weekend Project

For those of you who know me know that I am not much of a decorator. We have lived in our house for almost 3 years (has it really been that long? wow!) and really never did anything to our bedroom as far as decorating goes. I was finally getting sick of it so around Christmas time I got the bug to redo our room. My mom got me a new comforter and pillows for Christmas and I bought some curtains and some wall decor to go with it. Well this past weekend was finally the weekend to get started on this project. I forgot how much work it is to paint, but thanks to my lovely sister-in-law lara we were pretty much able to get the main walls painted with their first coat of paint. I forgot to take a before of our messy room but our room simply had white walls.
Here is our room with the primer and tan walls completed (the picture makes the walls look yellow but they are really a shade of tan.
Here is our burgundy wall with one coat (no that is not our new comforter).
I had to take a picture of the kids this morning. I was getting ready for the gym and Londynn was reading a book to Boston. He sure loves his big sister.
And there you have it. Exciting isn't it? We should be finishing up the last coat tonight and when the room is complete I'll be sure to show the final project.

Daddy looks like Santa Clause

Wow, life is definitely boring at the Stout home these days (which I guess is okay). However, this means that there really isn't anything worth blogging about. However, I thought I would share that Londynn now thinks daddy looks like Santa Clause. Last week Jared went into work late one day and while I was in the kitchen Londynn comes bawling to me like her feelings had just been hurt. I noticed that she had a little bit of shaving cream on her nose so I thought maybe Jared had flicked some on her and she didn't like it. When I asked her what was wrong she just replied "santa clause". Obviously the poor child is still scarred from Christmas. I asked her if dad looked like Santa and she said yes. Well a week later she still has not forgotten about that morning. Everyday she will remind me that daddy looks like Santa Clause.

stickers and burgers

My poor little girl has been sick with a bad cold this week. I swear there hasn't been a week since Christmas that at least one family member hasn't been sick. This winter has been brutal to us. You can't help but feel sorry for your little ones when they are sick. Londynn has been extra clingy and whiny making it a very long week. Today I sat down to try and watch Oprah and of course Londynn was right there on my lap trying to get my attention. These days if she can find something to do to entertain herself, I'm all for letting her do it. Today it was sticking stickers on my face (and what a nice mom I was to let her do it). At least I was able to watch Oprah. Because we were both beautified with stickers I just had to take to a picture.

Londynn: uh-oh mommy, uh-oh.
Me: Uh-oh what?
Londynn: I have burgers mom, I have burgers (aka boogers).

What's in your bag?

The Rules
1. You have to show your bag.
2. Show all the contents in the bag, no cleaning it out first.
3. Bag tag 5 more people.

Well this is my purse when I actually carry a purse. Most of the time it's a diaper bag these days, thus the reason my purse is a disaster. I have garbage (lots of it), a wallet, cell phone and cell phone charger. Supply of fruit snacks (can never have enough of those), baby spoon, change, chapstick, ipod, note pad, and a few other odds and ends. Lovely isn't it? Not. I now tag:

Janea
Mollie
Kari
Holly
Shari

So cute!

Londynn: Mommy I want some goatmeal.

Me: You mean you want some oatmeal?

Londynn: Ya I want some goatmeal.

Barf, barf and more barf

Yup that's pretty much what our early Saturday morning consisted of at the Stout home. Poor Londynn woke up at 1:30am screaming bloody murder. I jumped out of bed and ran to her room where she was crying "look mom, look". She had thrown up all over her bed, poor thing. By this time Boston was wide awake and screaming. This was definitely a two man job. We let Boston scream it out while Jared got the honors of cleaning up the bed while I ran Londynn a bath. We got her bed all cleaned up and made again and I put her back down to bed. Jared fed Boston a bottle and I returned to bed. No more than 5 minutes later Londynn started crying again. I ran into her bedroom to find that she had thrown up again. Needless to say between the hours of 1:30 and 7:00 am we cleaned puke up 6 times. I think she left her mark in every room of the house (you can imagine what our house smelled like....YUCK). However, I am happy to report that the episodes ended at 7:00 and the rest of the day she returned to her happy self. I definitely don't wish to relive that night again anytime soon, or at all for that matter. Is winter over yet?

On a lighter note here is the picture of Jared and I the night he proposed.

Reminiscing

As I was lying in bed waking up from my afternoon nap (yes I take naps and I love every minute of them) I realized today is February 7th.  Yes I know today is not Valentines Day; however, it was 5 years ago today that Jared proposed to me.  I remember this because I thought for sure he was going to propose on Valentines Day, so when we went out on a date that Friday night I thought nothing of it. We did the typical date thing...dinner and a movie (the movie was 10 Things I hate about you and dinner was Macaroni Grill...just in case you wanted to know lol).  We did the movie first and then headed to dinner. When we sat down for dinner I still had no clue what was coming. He says he was really nervous, but I guess he hid it pretty well because I didn't notice.  We made our orders and were waiting for our meals when out walks a waiter bringing a pizza. I thought they had the wrong table until he placed it in front of me and on the pizza it read "marry me". Following the pizza came red and white long stemmed roses. I'll never forget that day and I guess you could say the rest is history. Love you babe! (so I do have a picture of us taken that night; however, because I am so computer savvy..NOT I'm not sure how to scan the picture and get it posted. I'll have to hit the hubby up later. So picture still to come.)

Cabin Fever

I don't know if anyone else is like me but I am SO done with winter and the snow.  I'm ready for Spring and the sunshine. Today when we woke up to it snowing yet again, I decided that I was done driving in the snow and that I wasn't going to go to the gym today. Big mistake!!! My kids drove me crazy all day today. I guess they need a break from mom as much as I need it from them (that sounds so rude but, honestly). By 5:30 I was counting down the minutes for Jared to walk in the door.  After dinner I sat down at the computer for minute while Boston had a bottle and a few minutes later I found him looking like this....

Poor boy, I can only imagine what she'll be dressing him up in when he gets a little older. Londynn is definitely ready for a play buddy!

Even though today was a rough day I did manage to catch them playing together nicely for a second. Londynn's new thing lately is to pull Boston by the arm and drag him off his play mat. He's such a trooper and she's such a little stinker!

I am a child of God

So this post is for my brother Brad serving a mission in England.  I've tried all week to get her to sing I am a child of God on camera with no success; however, she decided once she was in my messy bedroom and her in her pajamas that it was time to sing. This was the best we could do at this point (I'll keep trying). Don't mind the mess and the burp (yup you heard me right, in the middle of the video...it took everything I had not to start laughing). Love you Brad!

Giggles for papa

Boston learned how to laugh a little while ago; however it takes a lot of work to make him laugh and he usually never laughs at the same thing the next time. I don't know what it is about my dad though. Ever since Boston was born my dad could talk and Boston just freezes and listens to him. The other night my parents were over and my dad was kissing his cheek and he just thought that was hilarious, probably because it tickled him but none the less he thought it was funny. I tried to get it on video but you know how that goes...as soon as the camera comes out it's just not the same, but it's still pretty cute.
Boston with papa clark
my silly boy

Boston was to distracted by me but you can see Londynn shaking her "bootie" in the back.
